How do I use MyEd?

Search, filter, shortlist and compare...everything you need to know to get started

Start your search

From the home page or header search icon:

  1. Start by selecting the type of learning provider you want to search for – nursery or school
  2. Enter a location - this can be a postcode, street or city/town
  3. Select a radius to define how wide you want your search to be
  4. Click the Search button

  • Your results will be displayed on a map and in list form, starting with the closest to your location. Click on a provider’s name to view the listing which contains a wealth of information. Scroll down or jump to a section using the links just below the icons.
  • You can then filter your results depending on whether you want to explore all the possible options in an area, or narrow your search, for example, search for good Ofsted rated, girls, secondary, Church of England schools.
  • Click on a provider’s name to view more information
  • Each listing will provide basic information about the school or nursery
  • Scroll down to view the data and information about the school or nursery you have selected
  • You may notice that some listings have more information than others. This is because the government data available about this institution is either not available from the source or a school has not taken ownership of the listing to enhance their page.
  • If you’ve registered for a free MyEd account, you can save a nursery or school to refer back to later, or compare providers using the buttons at the top of the provider’s page. You’ll also be able to share your experiences of your child’s learning provider by leaving a review at our Parent Perspective section.
